Day 21. Basket

A Basket of Children's Delights.

  1. Great setup and a lovely depiction of all those toys. This screams that you are a grandad with cool stuff to play with when the kids come over! I am trying to decide whether I like the light inside the basket or not. I generally do like that kind of thing, but I think this one is a bit unbalanced because it is so one-sided within the basket. It makes it obvious it's a light, and therefore detracts from the illusion that there is magic or something otherwordly glowing inside the basket. If you could have centred it more, and perhaps diffused it so that it glowed all through the lower section of the basket, I think it would have had much more impact.

  2. I'll bet your grandchildren love coming over to your house! Lots of toys, and forbidden snacks, too, I'd guess. :) The light inside the basket is a bit strong, but I like your thinking in trying to illuminate the goodies inside the basket to make them brighter and more appealing to the viewer. I think I might have gotten rid of that ray of light under the basket handle, though.

  3. I like how you set up your basket and the little toy box with pieces falling out. That is great as it doesn't look contrived and looks how the kids may have left it. I agree that the light in the basket is too harsh and was probably not needed. It would have been better to use the light and diffuse it with either a vellum paper etc., and not within the basket itself. It does show creativity and also experimentation and that is how we learn. Overall, well done!

  4. Thank you Ladies for your comments and as usual spot on. I did try to do something different taking ideas from your own work, it didn't really work but 'there you are', a befuddled 73 year old brain doesn't adapt too well.

  6. Oh no, Leo don't think that it didn't work... you now have suggestions as to how to do it better next time. It is wonderful that you are trying new and different things that you normally wouldn't/don't do! Don't stop experimenting, that is what this 30 day challenge is all about! I always look at them as a learning experience if I can.
