Day 28. Door.
Cabinet Door. Made by my Granddad as his 'Apprentice piece' in circa 1898. All apprentices had to make such an item as they finished their apprenticeship to prove their ability. My Granddad was a French Polisher'.
Taken with my 'fisheye', hence the door bow.

  1. Looks like such a great little cabinet. We both did cabinets today -- what a coincidence. I see the notches in the wood for the interior shelves and my cabinet has that also. I wonder if they are from the same period. I have no idea how old mine is. I wish I had the key for mine but I've never had it . The fish eye plays such tricks with our eyes, it is hard to know if the drawer is that large compared to the door. I am guessing it's a fish-eye illusion.
Only 3 more days to go.. .you've done so well!

  2. Oh, wow, that's awesome! I love the bendy and exaggerated foreground. I feel like I am perhaps Alice, wandering around the rabbit hole with all things exaggeratedly large, and weird! Wonderful composition and what a great story to accompany it.

  4. Okay, now this one I think is strange with the fisheye, and I fear your poor Grandad might wonder what you have done to his apprentice piece.
