Day 4
Red Berries
I can see me running out of suitable subjects, so,  I'm hopping onto the List and using 'Berries'  for today, still with the fisheye. Hope you don't mind. This was my wife's 'Advent Candle' arrangement, now defunct, so I re-lit it and used it.

  1. Welcome aboard! It will be neat to see the fisheye view of a the upcoming subjects. The composition is great for exaggerating the berries with the lens. Personally I'd crop the sides in and the top down to avoid the distracting window and stuff on the sides. That still leaves the table edges and the enlarged berries in the foreground. I've always wanted to play with a fisheye, so I'm enjoying your challenge photos.

    1. Thanks for the idea Carol, I'll spend more time with the composition next time.

  2. Of course everybody can borrow ideas from the list I guess. I agree with Carol on cropping, cloning or vignetting the bright top & sides to focus us on the berries.

  3. I agree with Carol with the crop as you still get that wonderful fish-eye effect with the berries which come right up to our noses. I'm glad that you are hopping on the list with us, it's fun to see everyone's take!

  4. As soon as I saw the berries I thought, hah, it's hard to maintain random subjects all month, so I am glad you have joined the Cali Girl list. This is a great subject with lots of potential in that bendy berry clump, especially with the exaggeration of the wide lens. I agree too that a square crop would really do the trick to remove the distraction of the light areas in the top corners.

  5. You are welcome to pop in and out of the list at will. I imagine you were thinking you would lose the fish eye effect with cropping, but I agree with those above. As long as you retain the proper distortion on the important bits, crop away :)

  6. Well a fish eye view of the berry arrangement is a great idea, I miss the other candles that aren't lit but that may make it way too bright. I think the cropping suggestions are good but love the in your face berries
