Day 30,  Wood Bank. circa 2002.
Built 2002, just to show we don't live in a place where all the properties are old. These are new properties built on the site of an old Cotton Mill that straddled the width of this narrow valley. The mill was a five storey building and with it being built between the hills you could get access to all floors from ground level. A stream runs down the right side of this picture but has now been culverted. These houses are valued at around £600,000 to £750,000  and are built in the local stone to keep in with surroundings.

  1. Congrats on making it through the Challenge!

Thank you for taking us on a tour of the area in which you live. I've enjoyed reading the descriptions of the buildings and seeing an area so different from where I live!

  2. Congratulations on completing your challenge. History is so interesting and I have enjoyed learning about your area.
I like the way that UK has strict building rules in some areas, so new buildings are in keeping with the area

  3. These buildings are very beautiful. I would love to have such a handsome home.

Congratulations on doing the entire month. I learned a lot about the area where you live and how times were in England a century or more ago. Thank you for all the historic research you did to bring these places to life to the rest of us.

    :-)

I think my favourite shot from your challenge is day 24. Just because it brings back memories :-)

  6. I love how even the new buildings are still stone! Congratulations on finishing the 30 days, it's been very interesting learning about the history of where you live! If I'm ever over there one day, you can be my tour guide! :) Apologies for the lateness in the commenting, I wanted to do it eventually though. Nice work again :)
