Day 16, Broadclough Farm. circa 1697.
Broadclough Farm in the hamlet of Broadclough The inset shows the date stone, you can just make out the date 1697 though the 6 is partially missing.  This small hamlet once had a shop and a pub and a couple of dozen houses, the pub is now a house. Broadclough Farm is now a modern house. The shop which was a grocery store and a fish and chip shop is now gone.

  1. Seeing this old building standing after so many years, you really can understand the reason one would want (if they could afford it, that is) to build in stone. Looks like you are keeping busy hunting down the history on all these homes.

  2. Such small windows! It's a shame some of them are no longer around.
